Conflict of Interest Polyci

The Jurnal Anestesi Obstetri Indonesia (JAOI) is committed to maintaining transparency, objectivity, and integrity throughout the editorial and publication process. All authors, editors, reviewers, and other parties involved in the publication process are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence, or be perceived to influence, their professional judgment.

1. Authors

Authors must disclose all financial and non-financial relationships that could influence the research, interpretation of results, or preparation of the manuscript. These may include employment, consultancies, honoraria, research funding, grants, personal relationships, academic competition, and institutional affiliations.

A conflict of interest statement must be included in the manuscript. If no conflicts exist, authors should state:

“The authors declare that they have no conflicts of interest related to this manuscript.”

All sources of funding and the role of the funder, where applicable, must also be disclosed.

2. Editors

Editors must disclose any conflicts of interest related to a submitted manuscript. Editors who have a personal, professional, financial, or institutional conflict must not participate in the editorial decision-making process for that manuscript. The manuscript will be assigned to another qualified editor.

3. Peer Reviewers

Peer reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment. Reviewers should decline the assignment if a conflict could compromise their impartiality, including close professional relationships, personal relationships, financial interests, or direct competition with the authors.

4. Management of Conflicts of Interest

JAOI will assess disclosed conflicts of interest and take appropriate measures to protect the fairness and integrity of the publication process. These measures may include reassignment of editors or reviewers, requests for additional disclosure, or other actions considered necessary by the editorial team.

Failure to disclose a relevant conflict of interest may result in editorial action, including rejection of a manuscript or correction or retraction of a published article, where appropriate.

5. Transparency and Accountability

All parties involved in the publication process are expected to provide accurate and complete disclosures. The editorial team will handle conflict of interest information confidentially and use it only for purposes related to editorial assessment and publication integrity.
