Correction and Retraction Policy
The Jurnal Anestesi Obstetri Indonesia (JAOI) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the scholarly record. If errors or ethical concerns are identified in a published article, the journal will assess the matter carefully and take appropriate action in accordance with publication ethics principles.
1. Corrections
A correction may be published when an error is identified in a published article and the error can be corrected without invalidating the overall findings or conclusions of the work.
Authors who identify errors in their published articles should promptly notify the editorial office. Readers and other parties may also report potential errors to the journal.
Corrections will clearly identify the affected article and explain the nature of the change. The original article will remain accessible, with an appropriate notice or link to the correction where technically possible.
2. Retractions
A retraction may be considered when the findings of an article are unreliable because of significant errors or research misconduct, including fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, unethical research practices, or redundant publication.
The journal may also consider retraction when there is compelling evidence that the publication process or research integrity has been seriously compromised.
Retraction decisions will be made by the editorial team following an appropriate assessment of the available evidence. Authors will normally be given an opportunity to respond to the concerns raised. Where appropriate, the journal may consult independent experts or the relevant institution.
A retraction notice will explain the reason for the retraction and identify the affected article. The original article will generally remain accessible, clearly marked as retracted, to preserve the scholarly record.
3. Expressions of Concern
When serious concerns arise but the available evidence is insufficient to reach a final decision, the journal may publish an expression of concern while further assessment is conducted.
4. Editorial Responsibility and Transparency
All reports of errors or potential publication misconduct will be handled fairly, objectively, and confidentially, as appropriate. Editorial actions will be proportionate to the nature and severity of the issue.
JAOI aims to ensure that corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions are communicated transparently to readers and linked to the relevant published article whenever technically possible.
